Loosen your grip from around my neck.
I didn’t see you coming and now, you have the upper hand.
Feels like you’re sitting on my chest,
And I’m collapsing under the weight of you.

You pollute the air I breathe with your sweet perfume.
Flood my mind with images of me and you.
Daring me to jump and when I do,
You vaporize before my eyes and there’s no trace left of you.

Are you a ghost? You just an illusion?
Don’t think that I can trust my eyes.
You pull me in close, and just when I let you in,
You make me think that it was all a lie.
Oh, I’ll pretend it doesn’t hurt or make me crazy.
So put on the brakes, and let me off this ride.

Started off like a carnival.
We were on this ride, hoping it would never end.
We are all alone, just the two of us, in this crowd of thousands.
The sweet and salty smell of the caramel you kissed off my lips;
The sound of the haunting carousel music.
But now I’m stuck in a house of mirrors
And I can’t get out or stand the sight of myself.

If I do get out, I’m greeted by a hundred clowns
Who are laughing in my face, tearing my clothes
and dousing me with water,
Leaving me for dead on the ground and I say,
